I am wondering if the time has come to announce a petition drive, or some similar public effort, to repeal the PILOT agreement. This would be a long shot, but it would have the effect of publicizing how poorly Longview did in the PSC hearings, and give us a platform to point out: A) Longview has no investors; and B) Longview does not need the tax breaks. This has the disadvantage of being slightly contradictory at first glance, but I think this would be an excellent way of embarrassing Longview by pointing out that, even thought they should potentially make huge profits, no one is investing in Longview because anyone who knows anything knows that Longview is made up of an incompetent bunch of amateurs who are depending on West Virginia to do all the work for them while they haul huge profits back to their beach house on Cape Cod. So why give this bunch of nincompoops a huge tax break? What do you all think? Is this a strategy worth discussing Monday night?
