Positive Spin will be open again on Tuesdays, 5pm - 9pm, but with a new
spin.
Phone 304-933-2633 (304-WEE-CODE) when you arrive. Only one patron at at
time will be allowed into the shop for a 15 minutes slot, or until the
next person arrives. Masks and social distancing are required at all
times. Repair help for your bike (repair stand time) will not be offered
on Tuesdays.
Donations:
* High priority: hand sanitizer, bottles of liquid soap, paper towels,
wipes, isopropyl alcohol (good option for disinfecting bikes), or other
disinfectants, and masks to donate to our patrons.
* Smaller items are accepted: parts, wheels, rims, tires, frames,
tools, pumps, shoes, helmets, lights, bells, mirrors, clothing, racks,
bike bags, etc.
* Bikes - only by arrangement: Since we closed early March, our aisles
are crowded with bikes that normally would have found new homes during
early to mid Spring. We are committed to giving bikes a new life, but
for everyone's safety, we will only accept bike donations at the shop
that we have given permission for you to bring over, otherwise, we
encourage you to patiently hold on to such bikes.
Volunteering: We will allow up to 3 volunteer mechanics in the repair
room at a time. Please schedule your time slot ahead of time, limit tool
sharing, and disinfect tools you have used when you are finished.
Community Repair Help: While not offered during our regular Tuesday
openings, we are exploring offering pre-arranged individual sessions. In
practice, hands-off repair help has always been the expected norm at our
shop, although it has not been strictly practiced. Now when you learn a
new skill or solve a new problem with guidance from community
volunteers, the major difference will be that masked mentors will
utilize verbal instruction while maintaining at least a 6 foot distance
from their masked apprentices.
Sign-in: For your safety, we will sign you in.
Note: Because this is all new to us, our new protocols may evolve over
time, so watch for new updates.
