In a class this fall they will be designing and building a bicycle to compete in the Human Powered Vehicle Challenge. They would like to work with Positive Spin to improve their bike repair skills, recycle parts, fix bikes for the Christmas give away and assist us with more shop hours devoted to community involvement. Classes start in two weeks at which time they would like to tour our facility. With board approval (item for Monday's agenda) I will set up a time and everyone who is available can meet Dr. Sierros and the students. TIG Welding

I would be happy to help the students with TIG welding as well as with general fabrication methods they might be considering for their build. When they are ready, they can contact me directly to work out the details. Kostas, what type of machine did you buy? Probably need to start in September so they can get a bike ready for the spring competition. Fayette County Commission Agenda Meeting

All- This Tuesday 8/13 at 10:00 AM Fayette County Commission holds their agenda meeting. I plan on attending to push for $50,000 to be directed from the legacy fund (funded by Marcellus impact fees) to be utilized for the construction of the sheepskin trail. I welcome more voices to show support for this issue. For those of you who may not know the Sheepskin trail is a proposed ( and partially complete) 34 mile rail trail that would connect the Mon River Trail System to the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP).
