They will speak on the effects that urban air pollution, diesel vehicle pollution, and social stressors have on brain health. Inspire Speakers Series Featuring Paul Hawken Paul Hawken, an environmentalist, entrepreneur, and author, comes to Pittsburgh May 19. His work includes starting ecological businesses (including some of the first natural food companies), writing about the impact of commerce on living systems, and consulting with heads of state and CEOs on economic development, industrial ecology, and environmental policy. He is the author of several best-selling books, including Natural Capitalism: Creating the Next Industrial Revolution. Mr. Hawken will be speaking on his new endeavor "Drawdown," a solutions-based approach to climate change that uses data to model how reducing atmospheric carbon benefits us all.
