MORGANTOWN--
A public meeting on a Monongalia County concrete batch plant has been set for
June 9 at the Stewartstown Community Building. The meeting will begin at 6
p.m.
Staff from the West Virginia
Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Air Quality will be on hand
to discuss the Alcon, LLC. general permit registration application G50-B042, and
to take comments
from the public on the proposal. The agency will
consider written and oral comments on the permit modification before making a
final permit decision.
The general permit registration
application to construct and operate a concrete batch plant in Morgantown, W.Va.
was received April 6, 2005. DAQ's preliminary evaluation of Alcon's
application indicates that the
proposed construction will meet all
applicable air quality requirements.
All written comments
on the proposed batch plant must be received by the close of the hearing on June
9. All comments received will be considered by the DAQ director in a final
decision on the proposed construction.
