application format

Dear LAB, The City of Morgantown, WV is preparing to submit it's second BFC application in February. Thanks for posting a PDF of the application at http://www.bikeleague.org/programs/bicyclefriendlyamerica/pdfs/bfc_applicat… . Can you provide a format that we can populate? For example, an MS Word template. We recognize that the final application must be submitted on-line but we need a format on which we can collaboratively build our application. Also, if you have experience with other communities whose members have collaborated on the application, could you please share with us what worked? When we last applied in 2007, several people including the City Manager, Public Works Director, Chief of Police, Parks and Recreation Director, etc. input to the application. At that time, we worked with a shared MS Word document. We are excited to get rolling on this application. Since our last application, we have implemented most of the recommendations that you gave us and we're looking forward to a re-evaluation. How does one include photographs in the on-line application and reference documents such as our comprehensive Bicycle Plan to the on-line application? Frank D. Statewide bicycle plan

Frank and everyone, I am at the wvdot statewide planning conference and they just had a presentation about a statewide bike plan that is getting started. They have not made contact with anyone yet about this but plan to begin the process this fall. I wil make sure that they have out contact info and that we will be included. Chet

Trevor, Thanks for meeting with the Bicycle Board today! Your laying out the plans, explaining them and discussing them with the Board members led to viable bicycle parking solutions that probably would not have been identified by any of us working alone. Bicycle Board Members, I have moved the bicycle storage ordinances and summary to http://db.tt/CyEygNX to make it accessible to those who said they couldn't get it in the public folder. Please let me know if you have trouble with http://db.tt/CyEygNX . If you know of a city similar to Morgantown that has a bicycle storage ordinance or guidelines or if you'd just like to try to find some, please add to the folder at http://db.tt/CyEygNX and update the Summary document. I will schedule us to meet with the Planning Commission in October. So far, we don't have a sufficient case to submit to them. Frank
